About

Us

We have had a love for animals for many years. When moving from a small city flat into a larger home we were finally able to fulfil our desire of welcoming a pet into our family. That came in the form of our wonderful Golden Retriever, Jessie. A year after the arrival of Jessie, a vet in the family casually arrived with the most beautiful Tonkinese kitten. She stated that the kitten had recently undergone a minor operation to remove a small lump from his neck. A temporary home was required until permanent arrangements could be made. Agreeing to only accommodate temporarily, Jessie decided she wanted him to say. We named him Chi Chu and our love affair with the Tonkinese breed was born. We felt the need to research the Tonkinese breed and called several breeders to learn as much as we could. We finally decided to purchase a friend for Chi Chu, which saw the arrival of Zsa Zsa from Tyrah Tonkinese. Chi Chu & Zsa Zsa have the most loving relationship & bring us so much joy. We hope to extend our Tonkinese family in the future to develop a breeding program to create our own lines. Our aim is to breed kittens with great temperaments & of sound quality. Our priority is to find good loving homes for our kittens, where they will receive the love and attention they deserve in a home setting.

Tonkinese Breed

Where from ~ A hybrid breed of the Burmese & Siamese cats and has physical features of both (medium size, muscular)

Temperament ~ Friendly, affectionate, mischievous & very intelligent

Enjoy doing ~ Playing & enjoying the company of their owners, other pets & children

Party tricks ~ Tonkinese are able to be walked on a leash & can be taught to fetch

Companionship ~ Tonkinese cats are great in pairs. However this is not essential.

They are gentle, fun loving cats with a need for lots of mental stimulation. This is best accomplished by allowing them to potter around the house, providing them with the opportunity to be incorporated into your daily routine as well as providing toys, a good diet & of course plenty of fresh water. The coat is very easy to keep in good condition with very little grooming. Regular combing to remove dead hair and buffing with a soft cloth or mitten maintains a healthy sheen.

Kittens

All kittens will be sold with pedigree papers, vaccinated, wormed, vet checked and registered with the Warratah National Cat Alliance (WSCA). Each proud new owner will receive a Kitten Pack with their new addition to ensure a smooth transition to their new loving homes. Interstate delivery is also possible.

We will ensure suitable parents adopt each kitten. We look forward to answering & asking questions to maintain responsible Tonkinese ownership.

Our kittens are reared in a loving home environment with other cats & a dog. Each kitten will be toilet trained and well and truly aware of the routines of a household to ensure a smooth transition to their new home. Mulvan Tonkinese offer ongoing support of kittens sold and would love new owners to stay in touch.
